Lincoln Speedway rained out again

MANUFACTURERS APPRECIATION NIGHT RESCHEDULE ONCE AGAIN;
Rain forces Lincoln Speedway to reschedule event to Friday, October 18th

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA, 10/11/02 - Once again rain has forced Lincoln Speedway officials to postpone the 13th Annual Manufacturers Appreciation Race for the super sprints. The originally scheduled September 13th show was rescheduled for Friday night, October 11th due to rain.

But once again rain has forced Lincoln officials to postpone the special event until next Friday night, October 18th.

Rain came into the Central Pennsylvania area on Thursday and continued into race-day. And with the forecast of more rain into the evening, speedway officials were forced to move popular event once again - to Friday night, October 18th.

Once again gates will open at 5:30 PM, with super sprint time trials set to get underway at 7:30 PM.

With over $60,000 in racing merchandise committed to this final 2002 race at Lincoln, promoters - Don & Bob Leiby, along with Alan Kreitzer - have made the commitment to run this race at all costs in 2002.

With that said, a perpetual rain-date will be committed to until the race is in the books and all prizes given away.

Hank and Denise Gentzler, and a host of other racing merchandise providers, have waited anxiously since the originally scheduled September 21st event was postponed due to rain. The final Miller Brothers Thundercar point race also hangs in the balance as they too are scheduled to run this one last point race as well. Time trials for the super sprints will start the October 18th evening's racing program at 7:30 PM, with gates opening at 5:30 PM.
