Team MAXIM dominated the World of Outlaws debut at Tunica's Delta Bowl Speedway, with Greg Hodnett steering the Apple MAXIM wrenched by Lee Stouffer to convincing wins Friday and Saturday in front of his hometown crowd.
Hodnett's take at the Delta Bowl pay window after the two victories was $17,000 for the York, Pennsylvania based team. Their 2003 season has seen them take the checkered first in 24 main events.
"This really feels good. I haven't been able to race around here in five, six, maybe even seven years, and to win in front of my friends and family here in the stands is great," said Hodnett. "I have to thank Apple Motorsports, Cars by Dealers Magazine and, of course, the Kele guys from Bartlett. This car has been awesome all year."
Team MAXIM took the top two spots in Saturday's finale with Steve Kinser's runner-up finish in the Quaker State MAXIM earning the current WoO point leader a two-night pay of $8,500. Hodnett and Kinser, along with Mark Kinser, Jason Meyers, Paul McMahan, Jason Sides, Brian Brown, Kraig Kinser, and Dale Blaney gave MAXIM a Friday domination at the pay window that saw nine of the top twelve finishers utilizing MAXIM Race Chassis.
Hodnett also scored at Williams Grove's finale the weekend prior, winning $3,000 for his romp in the 25 lap feature there.
Other Team MAXIM winners include Niki Young at the Lincoln Speedway finale; Terry Gray won $5,000 with his MAXIM in the Air Flow Research Dash at Volusia Speedway Park; and Gary Wright pocketed $5,000 by winning Saturday night's 30th Annual Devil's Bowl Speedway Winter Nationals finale.
