Trail-Way results 2003-07-12

HANOVER, PA, 07/12/03 - Hanover's Tim R. Dietz picked up his 2nd win of the 2003 season in Saturday night's 600 Sprint Feature. Dietz grabbed the lead away from early race leader Ron Taggart on lap 14. With a caution caused by Terry Peters coming out on lap 19,the Bradley Specialties #71 machine driven by Ryan Greth challenged Dietz for the lead on the one lap shootout. Greth, the opening day winner, was strong throughout the race, but could not put the right moves on Dietz. Greth crossed the line second followed by tenth place starter Duane Harbaugh, 14th starter Ben Murphy, and pole starter Rickie Breighner completing the top five,

Heat winners were Tim R. Dietz, Taggart and Aaron Eichelberger. Consolation winner was Tim A. Dietz.

Jonestown's Mike Boyer was perfect tonight leading all 20 laps of the 250 feature. Second starter Mike Connors followed behind Boyer throughout the race, giving him a second place finish. Chad Myers, Keith Woodson and Joe Trone Jr. rounded out the top five.

Heat winners were Mike Boyer, Mike Connors and Jim Still. Consolation winner was Nich Schlauch Jr.

Can anyone beat Arlin Brougher? That is probably the most popular question going through the minds of the 4 Cylinder Stock Car drivers. So far this year, Brougher is undefeated. In tonight's 4 Cylinder Stock Car race, Brougher grabbed his third win of the season, keeping his record perfect. 2002 track champion Eric Hollenbach and Wes Irwin both battled behind Brougher for second, but lapped soon became a factor causing Hollenbach and Irwin to not be able to catch race leader, Brougher. Hollenbach and Irwin followed Brougher across the finish line. Kyle Levengood and Michael Haag completed the top five.

Heat winners were Wes Irwin, Arlin Brougher and Jerry Schott Jr. Consolation winner was Richard Miller.

Shawn Crunkilton won the 6 Cylinder feature race. Heat winners were Scott Fisher and Shawn Crunkilton.

Joe Racine won tonight's 4 Cylinder feature. Heat winners were Joe Racine and Michael Eckenrode. Consolation winner was Randy Crunkilton.

In the Starlite Stock feature Justin Mong picked up the win.

The Figure 8 feature winner was Rodney Wolfe Jr.

Trail-Way swings back into action on Saturday, July 12th with the Predator Racecraft 250cc and 600cc Micro-Sprints, 4-Cylinder stocks in a double-points race, figure 8 racing, 4- and 6-cylinder scramble cars, and the second-ever appearance of the 4-cylinder scramble oval cars. Race time is 7:00 p.m.

"Checkered Flag Fan Club Nights" will be celebrated at Trail-Way on Friday, July 18th and Saturday, July 19th.

On Friday (7/18), the Coors Light 358 winged sprints, thundercars, and street stocks will run in a regular show. Gates will open at 5:15 p.m., with racing to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Then on Saturday, July 19th, the Predator Racecraft 250cc and 600cc Micro-Sprints will both run in double-points races, and will be joined by the 4-cylinder stocks, 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder scramble cars, figure 8's, and the new scramble oval cars. Race time is 7:00 p.m., with gates opening at 4:45 p.m.
