Danny Does Double Deuces

Lancaster, SC - May 15, 2004 - Graduating from high-school next Saturday, Danny "Hammer" Martin, Jr., did double duty, finishing second in a the 6 Lap Dash and second in the 30 Lap Feature. With the wing of his Martin Structures / eStateTrafficSchool.com eStateTrafficSchool.com 360 sprinter held together by bailing wire, the ace finished a close second to seasoned veteran and Feature event winner, Terry Gray. In a Feature loaded with trashed and tumbling sprint cars, the Hammer continues his string of top tens and solidified his role as USCS Championship spoiler for veterans Terry Gray and Kenny Adams. Butch Pendergrass finished third.

The Hammer's main aero wing, left rear shock, and brake system failed in the feature that was red-flagged for flipping cars flipping everywhere and obstructing the raceway. Martin did not need brakes to take it to the field. Papa "Sledgehammer" Martin and team engineer Dewey "Madman" Mixon quickly designed a fix for the wing, grabbing some bailing wire (as might have been discarded from hay bales found in the infield)to secure the massive Main Wing. Their quick-study aero package was put to the test as the fix was severely tested at speeds approaching 150 miles per hour in the dirt and dust of the blazingly fast half-mile at Lancaster, SC.

Next stop for the team is the " Fastest Track in West Tennessee", Garnertown Speedway, Saturday Night, May 29, 2004. The Hammer will take the last train to Clarksville, Tennessee for Round Eight of the USCS Outlaw Thunder Championship on Sunday May 30, 2004.
