ADAMS PADS O'REILLY USCS SOUTHERN THUNDER TOUR POINT LEAD WITH TWO WINS
FAYETTEVILLE, GA - Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL used to wins in double feature races Sunday night in Rome, GA to hold a 39-point lead in the O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series Southern Thunder Tour. Adams also leads the O'Reilly USCS National points, and leads the win column on the season with four total victories.
Several drivers used top five and top ten finishes to move up the list in the O'Reilly USCS Southern Tour points chase.
Steve Osborne of Cupertino, CA used a top five finish Sunday night to move up to the second spot and is followed by the top Southern Thunder Tour Rookie of the Year candidate, 19-year-old Bryn Gohn of Malabar, FL, who is six points behind Osborne. R.J. Johnson of Decatur, TN is in the fourth spot, two points behind Gohn.
Another Southern Thunder Rookie of the Year Candidate, 16-year-old Matt Tiffany of Daytona Beach, FL rides in the fifth spot, seven points behind Johnson, and Chad Allum of Kannapolis, NC used a Sunday night fourth-place effort to climb into the sixth spot, one-point behind Tiffany.
Danny Martin Jr. of Sarasota, FL is another driver under the age of 25, who is a member of the "SpeedMart Young Guns" club, who moved into the top ten of the Southern Thunder points. The 19-year-old driver had a second and third-place finish Sunday night to settle into the seventh spot, 27 points behind Allum.
The defending and four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN also had a second and third-place finish Sunday night, and is currently eighth, 43 points behind Martin. Paul Sides of Memphis, TN is ninth with 295 points, and Jerry Jones of Clermont, FL used a sixth-place finish Sunday night to move into the top ten, 11 points behind Sides.
The next O'Reilly USCS Southern Thunder Tour points-paying event will be on June 25 at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA.
The next three O'Reilly USCS National events will be Asphalt Thunder Tour races at Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, NC on Thursday night, Florence Motor Speedway in Florence, SC on Friday night, and Southern National Speedway in Kenly, NC on Saturday night.
