Buffalo, NY (September 1, 2002) - Paul Fix, driver of the #77 Hotel Monaco Jaguar, broke his shifter off in his hand on lap 10. A team member ran back to the hauler, took the shifter off a spare transmission, ran back to pit road and completed the required repairs while the rest of team prepped the car for the new piece. Paul saw the checkered flag as he finished the day 29 laps down in 16th place.

Hotel Monaco was this weekends race sponsor and came out to cheer on their car. The announcers loved to chat about the companion goldfish that are delivered to guestrooms upon request. Hotel Monaco's are all over the country have the best overnight accommodations.

There were 140,000 people at the Denver Grand Prix this weekend. This turned out to be a bigger draw than the Long Beach Grand Prix. The stands were full for the race, and all the Trans-Am drivers were mobbed after the race. The fans love all the drivers in Trans-Am. It was an awesome turnout of great mid-west fans for the race weekend.
The Shell Grand Prix of Denver Trans-Am 100 will air via tape delay on SPEED Channel on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. ET.
