TOMY DRISSI REBOUNDS IN SECOND PRACTICE
LONG BEACH, CA (April 8, 2005) The 2000 winner of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, Tomy Drissi piloted the No. 5 SAHARA the Movie Jaguar XKR into the top-three in second round practice for the Cytomax Challenge. Rebounding from contact with another car in the morning session, Drissi set a lap time of 1:23.534 around the 1.968 mile street course.
"I feel real good for qualifying," said Drissi. "I'd love to be on the pole but the bigger picture is the win the race. The guys worked hard to get the car back together from the incident in morning practice and we are pretty solid in the top-three. Now all I have to beat is Paul (Gentilozzi) and Boris (Said)."
