PAUL FIX QUALIFIES FIRST IN GT1 ACHIEVES THIRD STRAIGHT POLE
San Jose, CA- Paul Fix drove the #77 Fix Motorsports /Stopflex /Drive! Magazine/Total Power Battery Mustang Cobra to the GT1 class pole position for the Taylor Woodrow Grand Prix of San Jose Cytomax 100. Fix will take the green flag starting from the sixth overall spot.
Fix said of his qualifying effort, "It wasn't as fast as I wanted. But we are in a good position overall in the field of thirty one cars."
"The newly completed circuit will prove challenging for Saturday's event. Traffic and a narrow track will require patience. You will need to be patient and keep pace with the leaders," commented Fix. "The key here is to last the distance and be there at the end."
Fix can overtake the GT1 points standings with a top finish in the race. "We are here for the GT1 points ad championship. But obviously we are looking at the big picture as well and intend to have a great overall finish," Paul stated.
The Cytomax Sport Drink 100, Round 6 of the 2005 Trans-Am Championship and part of the inaugural Taylor Woodrow San Jose Grand Prix weekend, is scheduled Saturday, July 30, 2005. Saturday's race will air Sunday, Aug. 7 on SPEED Channel at 1 p.m. EDT.
