HANSEN SCORES UPSET VICTORY AT THE PAS
Tony Jones is atop the USAC/CRA Sprint Car standings after the first three races of the 2007 season and will lead the series back to Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway March 3.
Jones finished second to Garrett Hansen in Saturday night's 30-lap feature at The PAS and holds a 22-point cushion over Darren Hagen in the new series standings. Hagen was eighth at Perris Saturday.
Hansen, of Manhattan Beach, Calif., earned his initial series victory by leading all 30 laps in his Hansen's Welding Ellis. The 2004 USAC Most Improved Western Midget Driver was trailed at the checkered flag by Jones, Rip Williams, Scotty Weir and Danny Sheridan.
Former USAC/CRA Sprint Car Champion Damion Gardner escaped injury in a flip during the feature.
Mike Spencer was Saturday night's fastest qualifier and finished sixth, just ahead of defending USAC/CRA Champion Cory Kruseman, who was seventh.
