CRA BACK TO PERRIS SATURDAY SEEKING 11TH DIFFERENT WINNER; WEIR BECOMES 10TH DIFFERENT WINNER AT TUCSON
The unpredictable USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series continues this Saturday at Perris (CA) Auto Speedway. The 30-lap feature event could produce an 11th different feature winner in 11 races this season!
Scotty Weir of Marion, Ind. became the series' 10th different 2007 race winner Saturday, leading all 30 laps at USA Race Park in Tucson, Ariz. Weir was trailed at the checkered flag by R.J. Johnson and Casey Shuman, who gave fans a photo-finish for second ahead of Mike Spencer and Tony Jones. Weir's victory gave defending series car owner champion Glenn Crossno his first 2007 victory.
Jones continues to lead the series standings going into the Perris program, 61 ahead of Spencer.
Drivers in the "top-10" in series points who could be the 11th different winner this season are Rickie Gaunt, Danny Sheridan and Rip Williams.
