Eldora II: Marc Jessup preview

CAMBY, Ind. -- Marc Jessup and the Jessup Racing team return to the dirt during Memorial Day weekend with the USAC Valvoline National Sprint Car series at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Coming off a top-10 finish with his new F5 chassis, Jessup is excited about going to Eldora.

During the Tony Hulman Classic at Terre Haute last weekend Jessup was ninth fastest in qualifications out of 54 cars, but had problems in his heat race. Using fourth place in the semi feature to make the main event, Jessup moved up through the field before dropping back to 9th at the end.

"We're starting to get a handle on the car", said Jessup. "We were running well at Terre Haute, but we missed the setup a little and dropped back to 9th spot".

The event serves as the first tune-up for the upcoming Mopar Thunder Sprint event in August that will pay $50,000 to win winner. Last September during the Mopar Million at Eldora Jessup made the 26-car feature with over 138 cars in attendance. Jessup has continued to improve with each visit to Eldora, and expects to improve upon his career best 13th place finish at "the Big E".
