Danny Stratton of Fontana, Calif. captured his second consecutive USAC California Ford Focus Midget Car feature Saturday night, winning the 20-lapper at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway. The series continues its 2003 run this Saturday night as part of the "Harvest Classic 150" at the Madera (Calif.) Speedway.
A big 50-lap feature is on tap at Madera, the longest race to date for the new USAC series. The USAC Western Sprint Cars and Midget Cars will also compete in 50-lap features on the 1/3-mile paved oval.
Stratton caught Bradley Galedrige on the 16th lap and led the rest of the way to beat Galedrige, Chris Rahe, fast qualifier Bobby Michnowicz and Ryan Kaplan. Bobby McGowan led the first three laps and Galedrige led the next 12.
California Ford Focus South point leader Todd Hunsaker finished eighth and now has a 94-point lead over Kaplan in the standings.
