FF: California series Madera race notes

Josh Lakatos of Pasadena, Calif. is the new USAC California Ford Focus Midget Car North Series point leader after his 50-lap feature victory in Saturday night's 32nd "Harvest Classic 150" program at the Madera (Calif.) Speedway.

Lakatos grabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag in his Matco Tools/Race Truck Trends Beast and led all the way to beat Chris Rahe, Todd Hunsaker, Bobby McGowan and Garratt Boyden to the checkered flag. The win left Lakatos with a four-point lead over Boyden in the new North standings.

Hunsaker's finish helped him maintain the lead in the South standings going into an October 4 race at the Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway. He leads Ryan Kaplan, who finished ninth at Madera, by 112 points.

Thomas Meseraull posted Saturday's fastest qualifying time but finished 15th in the 50-lap race.
