McGowan Wins "Turkey Night" Focus Finale

Bobby McGowan of Ramona, CA won the 64th Turkey Night Grand Prix USAC Ford Focus Midget 30 lap feature at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, CA Thursday night. Driving the Motive Energy/Got Nuts Racing Stealth, he started third and passed leader Ryan Pace on lap 23. The victory was his fourth of the season. In the winner's circle he said; "we were pretty good but it was up in the air until Ryan had a little problem and we got by him."

Trailing McGowan and Pace at the finish were Chase Barber, Josh Lakatos and J.J. Ercse.

Chris Rahe, the California South Ford Focus Champion, led the race early until he encountered problems and dropped back to 17th at the finish. The California North champion, Bradley Galedrige, finished ninth. J J Ercse started 20th and worked his way to fifth to earn the hard charger award.

The fastest qualifier was Chase Barber. Steve Davis won the last chance race which preceded the feature.
