WATERS EYES ROCKY MOUNTAIN POINT LEAD SATURDAY
Defending two-time USAC/SLVRA Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series Champion Jim Waters hopes to bolt back to the top of the standings when the 2005 Young Automotive Group series resumes this Saturday night at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Waters currently trails 2004 USAC Western Sprint Car Champ Tony Hunt by 28 points and shares that spot with Jimmy Wysong entering this Saturday's racing program at the 3/8-mile paved oval. A 40-lap feature is on tap.
Hunt emerged as the series leader following his performances in the combine Western/Rocky Mountain series openers in Boise, Idaho April 15-16.
Waters leads the all-time list of series feature winners with seven while Wysong has won three.
