24 Hours of Le Mans -- 18-Hour Update

LE MANS, France (June 17) -- An eventful outing for the #33 Barazi Epsilon-entered Zytek 07S/2 sportscar sponsored by Lowe's continued in the second half of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After suffering from a brake system problem and fuel pressure issue in the second quarter, the driving trio of Adrian Fernandez, Haruki Kurosawa and Robbie Kerr had to make yet another visit to the garage just after 4:00 am local time for a right rear wheel bearing failure. The repair was a lengthy job keeping the squad sidelined for around 30 minutes. Fernandez returned to the track fifth in class and 31st overall.

At 7:20 am local time, Kurosawa went into the tire barrier at Arnage. He was running fifth in class and 30th overall. There was damage to the front bodywork of the #33 machine and, after making it back to pit lane for repairs, the team was able to continue.

With six hours remaining, Kerr is currently behind the wheel. He is running fourth in the LMP2 class and 24th overall.

Adrian Fernandez: "The car has been running well. Unfortunately, we have had some mechanical problems but we have been able to solve them as they have come and keep on running. It's a long race and I can see that the last few hours, there's going to be a lot of attrition so you just have to keep going."
