Murphy Prototypes will start from 5th position at Silverstone
From my side though I am very frustrated that we are starting from 5th position when we were sitting on pole so near to the end, but with the times so close it shows the quality of the field and of our car, so I think that we should have a strong race tomorrow.”
Warren Hughes, Murphy Prototype's driver: “It has been a very positive day. We had a tricky start to the weekend, but progressed throughout the three practice sessions to the point we are at right now.
It was an interesting qualifying session, but we know we have a quick race car. The team has done a great job to engineer and improve the car from what we had at the start of the weekend and we are much happier now. I am looking forward to a competitive race as I feel we have a good chance of a strong result tomorrow.”
Jody Firth, Murphy Prototype's driver: “The car improved dramatically over the free practice sessions and has put us in a better position now than we have ever been at this point on a race weekend. The team has done a brilliant job honing our race set up and whether we are in for a wet or dry race tomorrow, I think that we are in a strong position and in with a very good chance of a good result.”
Greg Murphy, Murphy Prototypes Founder: “We are obviously disappointed not to have clinched our first pole position, but as the lap times show, the competition was fierce. We shall be fighting from the start as usual tomorrow and, as I always say, it’s a long race so watch this space.”
