Simon Pagenaud Ready For Le Mans Challenge

READY FOR THE CHALLENGE

The highlight of the 2011 season for Simon Pagenaud and Team Peugeot Total is the Le Mans 24 Hours which kicks off on Wednesday evening with free practice and the first of the week’s qualifying sessions, while the race itself begins on Saturday afternoon at 3pm local time.

The entire Peugeot Sport squad has prepared particularly meticulously for this annual endurance classic, including a programme of 15 test sessions which have put 45,000km on the car in a bid to repeat the team’s success of 2009. At the pre-race test day on April 24, Peugeot focused on endurance running and set-up work which proved extremely valuable, and the emphasis throughout the process has been on fine-tuning the new 908’s efficiency, reliability, balance and driveability.

All that remains now is to put this work to the test in what continues to stand out as a truly legendary event, and arguably the most punishing race imaginable for the drivers and their machines. The competition promises to be extremely fierce, too. Indeed, the gaps between the front-runners have been exceptionally close since the beginning of the year and there is every chance that the spectators will be treated to yet another memorable show this weekend. Simon Pagenaud will share the N°9 Peugeot 908 (red mirrors) with Sébastien Bourdais and Pedro Lamy whose only aim is to be first across the line on Sunday afternoon…
