Second Night of Oil City Cup Postponed for World of Outlaws
Persistent rain throughout the day on Saturday that drenched the track and heavily saturated the pit area, forced the postponement of the second night of the Oil City Cup for the World of Outlaws at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 19, with the pit gates opening at 1 p.m. MST., with hot laps set for 5 p.m. MST.
A record crowd saw Steve Kinser pick up the win on Friday night in the opener of the two-day event, which was the World of Outlaws inaugural visit to the state-of-the-art 3/8-mile, with Tim Shaffer finishing second and Donny Schatz third.
The Oil City Cup is the kick-off of the Gold Rush Tour for the World of Outlaws in 2007 that will consist of 11 events at six different tracks.
