Team MAXIM dominated the inaugural World of Outlaws event at Parramatta City Raceway in the O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series' 'Down Under' finale. Steve Kinser drove his #11 Quaker State Maxim to the 497th victory of his incomparable career to claim the $20,000 first prize.
"This is a great win," said Kinser. "After spending so much of this weekend searching for the right setup on this car, we dialed it in nicely tonight. My regular crew chief, Scott Gerkin, stayed home and it is tribute to these guys here that we came on strong when it counted."
Kinser led a Team MAXIM effort in the finale that saw nine of the top fourteen finishers utilizing MAXIM Race Chassis, including Joey Saldana (3rd), Jason Sides (6th), Jason Meyers (8th), Kraig Kinser (9th), Paul McMahan (11th), Brian Paulus (12th), Craig Dollansky (13th), and Troy Little (14th).
Shane Stewart was a jubilant victor in Round 11 of World Series Sprint Cars at Brisbane International Speedway with his MAXIM.
In other Australian action, Team MAXIM swept the top three spots December 27th. Phill Game led Allan Wakeling and Greg Pickerill to the checkered flag at Springs.
Dean Freitas in an 03 BIG MAX was victorious in the USAC Southwest Series Sprint Race in Hawaii. Derek Durbin of Abes Racing, MAXIM's Hawaiian dealer, supplied Freitas with his winning mount.
