Ireland on Course for Championship Battle
The Driver's Title in the World Rally Championship (WRC) could well be decided at next month's Rally Ireland, following reigning world Champion Sebastien Loeb's victory in the Rallye de France Tour de Corse this weekend.
The Citroen Driver finished 23.7 seconds ahead of championship leader Marcus Gronholm of Finland in the BP Ford Focus WRC to bring his points tally to 100 for the season, just four points behind Gronholm.
With Rally Ireland's hotly-anticipated entry into the WRC already garnering huge international interest, a battle for the title is set to draw even more international fans and media to the event, which starts on Thursday 15th November with a Super Special Stage at Stormont before three more days of cross-border rally action in the north-west.
Rally Headquarters and Service Park are based in Sligo, with tarmac stages taking place in Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Donegal.
