Sainz and McRae begin battle for the lead!

Toyota's Carlos Sainz and Subaru's Colin McRae have resumed their battle for the 1998 Driver's Championship after the opening Super Special Stage of the Rally New Zealand. Sainz will lead the field in Leg 1 tomorrow, holding a slight 0.9 second over McRae. Marcus Gronholm holds 4th will Juha Kankkunen is well placed in 6th position. Australian Rally Champion Possum Bourne lies in 16th ahead of Australian Ed Ordynski in 18th poition.
