For Monteiro and SEAT Sport, unity is strength

Brno marks the end of the first half of the season of the FIA WTCC

Less than a week after the conclusion of the Le Mans 24 HR, Tiago Monteiro will once again take his place in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) which will take place next weekend on the Brno circuit in the Czech Republic. The 11th and 12th races will signify the end of the first half of the season and the mission of SEAT Sport and its five official drivers will be to play the team card to cope with a circuit which traditionally does not suit the qualities of the Leon TDI.

Wishing that unity will be their strength... "Brno is a circuit which does not successfully suit SEAT Sport. The fast curves are very nice from a driver's point of view, but our tyres suffer immensely here. I also think that the new technical regulations, which came into effect from Valencia, will basically not change the hierarchy in Brno compared to last year, because it affected our engines too much so that we won't be in a strong position," explained the pilot of the no.18. "But to throw up our arms and give up is not in SEAT Sport's vocabulary and we will do the utmost to obtain an overall good performance and preserve our places at the head of both championships."

Tiago has meticulously prepared for the Brno round and took the necessary time to recover from the Le mans 24 HR in order to return to his normal biological rhythm without neglecting his physical and mental preparation. "I think I am at the peak of my physical condition. There is no better training than to race and I did not spare any effort lately. I also feel rested and sharp enough to take up a new challenge. I know the Leon TDI well and team SEAT Sport and I will not have any trouble in finding my marks after the Le Mans 24HR," reassured Tiago.
