THREE CRUZES IN TOP SIX IN FIRST TASTE OF PORTO
Huff 2nd, Menu 3rd And Larini 6th In Testing Session
PORTO, 3rd July 2009 Three Cruzes in the top six and the first one only one position away from the top of the rankings: this was the first verdict in Porto, where the Race of Portugal will take place this week-end. Rob Huff was 2nd, just ahead of Alain Menu, while Nicola Larini set the sixth fastest lap.
Today's testing session, was aimed mostly at working on the set-up for the urban track that should suit the characteristics of the new Chevrolet well and this track is completely new to the Cruze. The team were pleased with the first results and aims at doing even better in tomorrow's qualifying.
Rob Huff (2nd): "I am pleased with the second fastest time of the session, especially as I didn't push very hard. It was a good working session and everything went smoothly. Tonight we will work to try to find some more front end grip".
Alain Menu (3rd): "It was a usefull day and I believe we have some room for improvement. I think the set-up on my car was a little bit too hard and we'll work on this tonight with the engineers".
Nicola Larini (6th): "Everything OK as far as I am concerned. I could have done a better time, but when I put on new tires, I was slowed by some yellow flags. The car feels fine and we'll see tomorrow when the serious things begin".
Mark Busfield: "We are happy with today's times and the work the team have done. I think we are going in the right direction and we have a quite clear picture of what we can improve on in the set-up. And, clearly, the Cruze appears once again to be at ease on urban tracks".
