Sean McIntosh is continuing his climb up the results sheets by putting in his first top ten qualifying performance. After his podium place in Germany two weeks ago Sean and A1 Team Canada are gaining in experience all the time and have converted the knowledge into moving up rows on the grid where he will take the start of the first race in 7th place.
Sean McIntosh: "It was a pretty good session. Because we ran rain tyres we were only given three sets of slicks for the weekend which makes it a bit different to the other events. My first run was on old tyres to get up to speed -- we hadn't really done a lap on a completely dry circuit so I was just learning a bit. Then the second run we put a new set of tyres on and we didn't quite have the balance.
"Then we ran with the same set of tyres for the third stint to learn a bit more and then the fourth run we put it all together. The car was where we needed it to be -- if we'd had it like that for two runs we'd perhaps have been a bit further up the grid but I'm pleased with the progress and particularly the fifth fastest time of the day. It's been great to improve -- from 21st on the grid at Brands Hatch to 13th at EuroSpeedway and now 7th is the right direction."
