Monterrey, Mexico - A1 Team China has chosen to change their nominated driver for both the Sprint and Feature races at the A1 Grand Prix of Nations, Parque Fundidora, Monterrey, Mexico.
Following post qualifying scrutineering technical infringements were found on the cars of A1 Team South Africa and A1 Team Brazil and both teams were subsequently penalised. A1 Team South Africa will now move down to third on the grid from pole, as its fastest lap time has been disallowed, while A1 Team Brazil has been moved down two places on the grid from ninth to 11th.
A1 Team China's qualifying time was set by Ma Qinghua. A substitution is permitted between the end of Qualifying and the start of the Sprint race provided the replacement driver has completed at least three timed laps during an official practice session and has recorded a lap time within 102 per cent of the overall fastest lap time set by its Team in Qualifying.
