Edoardo Piscopo scores points at Shanghai looks forward to Brands Hatch
Edoardo Piscopo continued to run strong at Shanghai, in the penultimate round of the A1GP season. The Italian driver spent the first practice session to get in touch with the unknown Chinese racetrack, completing a constant improvement and clocking his fastest mark on the last available lap. Edoardo then had a brilliant performance on Practice 2, taking third place as a good preparation for qualifying. In Race 1, Edoardo took off from the 11th, place and, thanks to a great start, was able to end up in 8th, battling in the most immediate followers' pack and taking three valuable points for Team Italy. On Race 2, he comfortably ended up in 12th driving consistently with no mistakes. The last round of the 2007/2008 season is now waiting the A1GP teams and drivers for the next 5th of May at Brands Hatch, Great Britain.
"Our weekend at Shanghai was once again very positive. The team's progress was clearly visible since practice, while in qualifying we could have made it to the top four rows without a front wing issue. Race 1 was very tight, with several cars fighting at the same level behind the leader. I missed a little bit of action on Race 2, though another points finish was still on our frame despite our bad luck in the pits. From a technical point of view, we found the right path at Mexico City, and the results are under everyone's eyes. I hope, by using the same approach, to make my way into the top-5 at Brands Hatch. It's a shame that the season is already almost over, and I really look forward to the next one...".
