Alex Job Racing will start the inaugural American Le Mans Series race in Washington from first and second on the GT grid. Sascha Maassen took just two laps to qualify the No. 23 McKenna Xybernaut Porsche on the class pole, covering the 1.661-mile course (note new track length) in one minute 12.893 seconds. Timo Bernhard qualified the No. 22 Porsche right behind for second in GT (1:13.479), also in two laps. Maassen will drive with Lucas Luhr in Sunday's race; Bernhard will share driving with Jörg Bergmeister.

High temperatures again affected the drivers and cars.

"It was getting hot in the car so I decided to come in early," Maassen joked of his two-lap qualifying run. "Our car was really good. We had a little less grip than this morning - I think the track temperature came up. In the first lap, I had some mistakes because I was pushing too hard and the grip was not there. So on the second lap, I didn't attack the entrance [to the turns] so much and I got very good exits, and that was a good lap time."

Bernhard is hoping to go the distance on Sunday.  "One-two in qualifying is
good for the team," he said.  "We'll see tomorrow for the race what will
happen.  I hope that we can finish the race and be on the podium.  That would
be great.  It's big heat here, so just finishing will be great."

Alex Job Racing, Porsche North America and team sponsor Xybernaut are working with the Council for Exceptional Children to raise funds for the Yes I Can with Technology program to help children with disabilities. Starting this week, the No. 22 and 23 Porsches will carry the toll-free number for donations to the program (877 YES I CAN).
