Bob Loga fatally injured

ARCA PRESIDENT BOB LOGA FATALLY INJURED 4-27-96 -- From ARCA Public Relations

TALLADEGA, Ala. -- Robert John (Bob) Loga, 55, President of the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA), died early Saturday afternoon at the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical Center of injuries he sustained Friday in an automobile accident. Loga is survived by his wife, Cora, and son, Gary, who were with him on Saturday; daughter, Wendy, and son, Tim; two grandchildren; brothers Paul and Bill; and sister, Esther Marsh. The accident occurred as Loga was exiting Talladega Superspeedway after the conclusion of Friday's activities. Two passengers in his car, Paul Loga and ARCA Competition Director Joe Wells, were treated at local hospitals for minor injuries and released. Loga had been an ARCA racing official since 1962 and was named president in 1990. His efforts were instrumental in the substantial growth of of ARCA over the past two decades. Funeral arrangements were incomplete as of Friday evening.
