Alli Owens Comments on Pocono Raceway:
"I love racing at Pocono (Raceway) because the track is so unique. The corners are mostly flat and remind me of the short tracks that I grew up racing on. Turn 3 handles a lot like a road course. The frontsretch is gigantic and you use your superspeedway drafting skills. There are so many different aspects of the track and they test all of your driving abilities. You can't be a one-dimensional driver and do well there. All of your skills come into play at Pocono. That's why it's so much fun to race there.
"We finished in 10th-place last time (at Pocono). That was one of my first races with D'Hondt Motorsports and we have come a long way since then. My team has a better idea of how I want the car to handle and how to set the car up to suit my driving style. Hopefully we'll come to the track this time with better notes and unload an even quicker ElectrifyingCareers.com car than we did in our last race.
"I was at Lyn St. James' 'Women in the Winner's Circle' luncheon. I'm so proud to be a part of what Lyn is doing. When I first became involved in the program, I remember looking up to drivers like Sarah Fischer and Danica Patrick. Deborah Renshaw and Erin Crocker were the ambassadors for the stock car series and I really admired them, too. Now I'm one of the representatives for stock car racing. It's so exciting to see young women who are coming up through the ranks and know that they're aiming to accomplish what I've done. Hopefully I'm showing them that there are no more boundaries for females in racing. Thanks to women like Lyn St. James, the sky is the limit."
