Steady progression to the front!
Hickory, NC - May 2, 2003 In preparing for this weekend's event at Toledo Speedway and checking out previous race statistics, it seems natural that the #67 ML Motorsports Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Jason Jarrett be in the winner's circle at the end of the day on Sunday.
Two previous races netted second and third place finishes for this third- generation driver from Hickory, North Carolina.
In 2001, Jarrett's rookie season with the ARCA RE/MAX Series, he led four laps and finished third; capturing highest finishing rookie honors for the effort.
In 2002, Jarrett finished second to the infamous Frank Kimmel. Jason led a total of 25 laps in this event. A late-race caution brought about a green- white-checkered finish to the race; with Jarrett barely missing the mark by a car length.
Jarrett's recent test at Toledo was for the purpose of trying out some new set-ups; different sets of shocks, different gears. The car runs good on these short-tracks, and with Jason's skill at working the car and track, it makes for a great match-up.
The GFS Market Place 200 presented by Federated Car Care is being held this Sunday, May 4th, at Toledo Speedway beginning at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. Race telecast of this race can be seen the following Sunday, May 11th, on the Outdoor Channel beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Jason Jarrett is the driver of the #67 Biomet/Damon RV sponsored ML Motorsports Pontiac Grand Prix, and is also a member of the Coca-Cola Racing Family.
