Alex Garcia hopes momentum to continue for Road America.
Atlanta (GA) August 12th, 2002. The Grand Prix of Road America (Elkart Lake, Wisconsin / 4.048 miles) will be the next event for Venezuelan driver Alex Garcia and the Transnet Racing Team on their way to the last segment of their first season in the competitive Toyota Atlantic Championship. The tenth race of twelve will be held next Sunday, August 18th, at the famous permanent road course.
Garcia, who finished in 12th place two weeks ago at Trois-Rivières (Quebec, Canada), said: "I am very happy after the result we had in Canada and hopefully, we will take this momentum to Road America. This is a new circuit for me -as are all of the racetracks we have raced in the Toyota Atlantic Championship this year- but I feel confident. I know my crew and I will work very hard to get a good set-up for the race.
"We completed a test session last week and it was very positive for us. Drivers such as Jimmy Vasser and Jacques Villeneuve have won at Road America racing in the Toyota Atlantic Championship. This is a very important race in the history of the Series and I look forward to racing there. We still need to find more speed in the car and hopefully, we will add more points to the end of the season".
The race will be broadcast by SPEED Channel.
Transnet Racing was founded in 2002 and is based in Atlanta (GA).
