Transnet Racing and Alex Garcia ready for Long Beach.

Atlanta, GA: Transnet Racing Team and their driver, Venezuelan Alex Garcia, will compete in the second race of the 2002 Toyota Atlantic Championship on April 14. The race will take place on the streets of Long Beach, California. Transnet Racing debuted at the Toyota Atlantic Championship race in Monterrey, Mexico, and this will be the first time that the team, as well as the driver, has competed at Long Beach.

"We've been working really hard, getting ready for this race", said Alex. "Over the last few weeks, we've been working on the 008 set-up we'll be using at Long Beach. Once we get to Long Beach, we'll have to get a feel for a track we've never raced before. Considering it is a street race, the track is really fast, the competition is tough and you have to maintain total concentration. There is no margin for error. I am looking forward to getting on the track for practice and getting ready to compete in the race."

The first practice laps in the Toyota Atlantic Series will take place on Friday morning, April 12th. The first round of qualifying will take place later that afternoon. The final starting positions will be determined on Saturday, following the second qualifying session. The race will take place on Sunday, the 14th, at 3:30 P.M. (Eastern Standard Time) and will be telecast on Speed Channel.

Transnet Racing was established in 2002 and is based out of Atlanta, Georgia (USA).
