TAGLIANI TAKES PROVISIONAL ATLANTIC POLE AT MID-OHIO

LEXINGTON, Ohio -- Alex Tagliani took the provisional pole for Sunday's KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Tagliani, of Lachenaie, Que., posted a time of 1:17.882 around the 2.258-mile course, an average of 104.37 miles per hour. Anthony Lazzaro, of Acworth, Ga., recorded a time of 1:18.322 for the second-fastest lap of the qualifying session. Lee Bentham, of Richmond Hill, Ont., was third fastest at 1:18.425.

Final qualifying is set for 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Round nine of the 13-race KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
