Ryan Lewis takes second in San Jose
Ryan Lewis showed everyone he was on top form yesterday by taking second place from eighth on the grid in San Jose, thus securing his third podium so far since he joined the Champ Car Atlantic Series earlier in the summer.
Ryan made his move early and was up to third place after just six laps after making some good overtaking moves stick. His own team-mate, Graham Rahal, was ahead of him in second but contact with the wall put Rahal back down the field and Ryan cruised home for a well-deserved podium finish.
"I had a great time out there today," said Ryan after the race. "I'm really enjoying racing on street circuits; even though it was a little daunting at first I seem to have got the hang of it. The Mi-Jack Conquest team have had a great run of results this year, especially with Graham (Rahal), so it feels good to be able to add some good 'Ryan Lewis' results! I'm still struggling a bit with Qualifying but I think I'm making good progress now. All in all it was a fun race and I'm delighted with the result."
Ryan is getting a real taste for street circuits now so he'll enjoy the next event: racing on the streets of Denver in two weeks' time.
