Toronto Hoover Orsi report

July 16, 2000, Toronto This weekend in Toronto Hoover Orsi and his number 9 Hylton Motorsports Toyota powered Swift never had a chance to show the consistency they had displayed in the first six races of the season. A gearbox problem in turn three on the first lap saw Orsi slow and make contact with the number 17 of Mike Conte. After several attempts to put the car in gear approaching the third turn apex Orsi's powerless car slowed and was spun around in traffic. Unable to refire and engage the gearbox the team was forced to call it a day "It was over before we had a opportunity to race." said team owner Keith Hylton. Orsi had already made two passes by turn two and was up to fifth from his seventh place starting position. "It was one of those freak things." Orsi said during the post race debriefing, "we will put this behind us and start preparing for Trios-Rivieres."
