EU3000: Dijon round seven race notes

Alex Lloyd of John Village Automotive led from pole position to the start of the race after a spectacular overtaking manoeuvre from third place on the grid to win his first victory in the SUPERFUND Euro 3000 Championship. The Austrian Driver posted a 48:09.141. Nicky Pastorelli of Draco Junior Team finished in second place with a 48.09.793. Completing the podium was Fabrizio Del Monte of GP Racing with a 48:18.902.

Fabrizio Del Monte still heads the Championship standings with 38 points ahead of Nicky Pastorelli on 27 points. Bernhard Auinger moves up to third place with 17 points followed by Norbert Siedler with 11 points. Tuka Rocha and Babalus both have seven Championship points with Austrian driver Mathias Lauda and Fausto Ippoliti sharing six points.

"I'm really happy with this result and it's a nice new experience. It's been a long time since I've been at the top of the podium! This was my best start of the season and after the first corner I was able to build up a good lead ahead of the field. Nicky was pushing very hard and put a great deal of pressure on me but I managed to hold on and bring my first victory home to the team."
