Morrison & Neal lead Honda 1-2 in qualifying
Honda team-mates Alan Morrison and Matt Neal will start tomorrow's (Sunday) ninth round of the Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship at Rockingham from first and second on the grid. GA Motorsports' Gavin Pyper and Barwell Motorsport's Luke Hines were the fastest of the Hilton Independents Trophy and Production class runners.
Morrison and Neal, in their Honda Civic Type-Rs, jumped to the top of the times with just a few minutes of a closely-fought qualifying session to go. Morrison set a best lap time of one minute, 42.691 seconds -- an average of 85.64mph -- to secure his maiden BTCC pole position on the championship's first visit to Rockingham.
Third and fourth fastest were Vauxhall team-mates Yvan Muller, the championship leader, and Paul O'Neill in their Astra Coupes. MG and Honda's two youngsters, Colin Turkington and Tom Chilton, completed the top six, each within 4/10ths of a second of the pole time.
