Challenge on with two hours remaining as third and fourth remain in contention
The #1 SKWIRK Mitsubishi Evo X of reigning WPS Bathurst 12 Hour champion Damien White has continued to hold on to the top spot at the close of the tenth hour of today's endurance Event.
While White has been dominating, the past hour has seen the fight for the front tighten up with his lead over second placed Tony Riccardiello reduced to less than 8 seconds -- a lead that is gradually reducing.
In addition, the currently third and fourth placed entries of Paul Stubber and Jason Bargwanna have managed to use the safety car called at the close of hour nine and race tactics to remain in contention.
Bargwanna took the helm of his team's Mitsubishi EVO IX just prior to the close of the tenth hour, taking over from team-mate Brad Jones. At the same time, class F competitor and former Bathurst 1000 winner Peter McLeod and his Holden Astra Sri were forced to return to the pits for an unscheduled pit stop when his boot opened as he moved around the circuit.
The leaders have now completed 196 laps.
