Day 2
Following a long night and an early start this morning, the OrangeArrows team continued at Silverstone today with both Jos Verstappen and Enrique Bernoldi completing the team's two-day test programme.
Despite an overcast start to the day, the track remained dry as the team focused on software developments and new components for next year. Jos also carried out a number of brake tests while Enrique continued with suspension work throughout the morning. Tyre tests for Bridgestone were also on the programme in preparation for the Belgian Grand Prix in a fortnight's time. A minor spin for Jos in the afternoon slowed progress slightly, but no damage was done to the car.
A relatively trouble-free day of running rounded up the test with Jos completing a total of 45 laps and Enrique running for 43 laps.
Graham Taylor, Chief Engineer, spoke after the session...
"It was a slightly frustrating day in a way as we couldn't complete the mileage we had hoped, but component wise, it was quite successful! The parts that we put on the car gathered us valuable data which already looks very positive for next year. Tyre-wise, we didn't get as much done as we would have liked, but managed to work with the tyre we will have for Belgium, so that's good preparation for us."
