After taking fourth place in the German GP, at the end of a complex race, Rubens Barrichello does not feel he was unlucky in having to take the T-car, after his race machine developed a transmission problem.
"I would have been unlucky, if I had not been able to use the spare, which we did to be on the safe side," said the Brazilian. "Thanks to the T-car, I was able to make a normal start, even if it was a fraught time as we had to do everything very quickly. I also had a little bit of pain in my back, because I had never used that seat before.
"My car was very good on the first stint," continued Rubens, "But after the pit stop, my second set of tyres was blistering, especially the fronts and there was nothing I could do. It was a tough race because I was fighting all the time. The first part, when I was fighting with Ralf, was good fun."
Was he upset at losing out on three points? "I lost three but I also won three, so on balance it's not too bad," said Barrichello. "I am happy for Michael who scored a great win. Now, I will go to Brazil for the three week break to get ready for the remaining five races, when I plan to give it my all as usual. My motivation is still the same. I want to win and I will do all I can to achieve that."
