Frentzen and Trulli achieved strong results in what proved to be a difficult qualifying session and will both start tomorrow's race from the fourth row of the grid.

Trulli was unable to complete his four timed runs, aborting his last two outings due to traffic and dust on the track. This hindered the Italian from improving on his qualifying time which was set on his second run.

Morning Practice

Both Trulli and Frentzen were very happy to have established a good car balance, finishing in 7th and 8th respectively.

Trulli continued with race set-up work during the first session, evaluating changes made to his EJ11 overnight before transferring his efforts to qualifying set-up in the second session.

Frentzen spent both sessions working through the set-up programme for qualifying. Analysis of data and theoretical work enabled the team to achieve a good car balance for the German after losing running time during yesterday's practice session.

Jarno Trulli
"After this morning's practice, I predicted we could be in seventh and eighth behind the three top teams, so I'm happy that my qualifying position is the least I had hoped for. It was a very difficult qualifying though, with a lot of cars out at the same time putting dust on the track, so I had to abort my last two runs because of traffic and also a yellow flag. I could have improved my lap time as there was more potential in the car, but I did the best I could given the situation on the track. The car feels good but I think it will be a tough race."

Heinz-Harald Frentzen
"I'm very pleased with my result here today and qualifying in the top eight is respectable, particularly being right behind the front runners. I was able to keep pace well and it feels great to be back racing again. The car's balance was very good and its handling strong and consistent, so I'm looking forward to the race. We are well placed to score points tomorrow."

Eddie Jordan, Chief Executive
"Jarno and Heinz both gave strong performances today, qualifying very well. It was good to see Heinz back on form and he did a good job, especially considering the little running time he has had in the car over the last month. Jarno produced another solid qualifying result. With the emergence of Williams, fourth is a good position for us at the moment and we're eager to finish in the points tomorrow."
