Felipe Massa Jerez test notes day three

Massa satisfied: "The F10 behaves well even on the wet"

Jerez de la Frontera, 12 February 2010 -- Rain was foreseen and rain did fall. The third day of testing this week at the "Circuito Permanente de Velocidad" in Jerez in Andalusia was held under the sign of bad weather. Only during the first hour nine out of the ten cars present at the track - Virgin drove its first metres in the afternoon -- went out on regular tyres. Today's time sheet was set at around 10am and remained unaltered for the rest of the day with Alguersuari ahead of the rest of the pack with a lap time of 1.19.919 and Felipe Massa fourth (1.21.603).

After Felipe had exploited the dry track as much as possible he waited at the box for some time before going back onto the track with a tarmac that enabled technically significant work.

At least until 2pm the water on the track, due to some drizzle, wasn't enough for fitting the super wets, while at the same time the rain was too much that a dry line could have formed. When the rain got more intense the Brazilian could drive with consistency to check the car's behaviour on the wet. At the end Felipe drove 72 laps before the track conditions worsened and the end of the programme had to be slightly anticipated.

"It was a pity that we could drive just a bit on the dry," Felipe told Ferrari.com at the end of the day. "Due to the rain we had to change the programme a bit and we checked the car's behaviour and the tyres with this sort of track condition. I have to say that the F10 has confirmed to be a very well set up car; I'm very happy with the sensations I had today. Let's hope that the weather is better tomorrow so we can drive more and start working on the set up."
