Kilometres on wet for Massa

Circuit: Circuito Permanente de Velocidad, Jerez de la Frontera -- 4.428 km
Driver: Felipe Massa
Car: Ferrari F10

Weather: air temperature 8/11 C, track temperature 10/12 C.
Overcast, rain from 10 to the end of the day.

Third day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro and nine other teams at the Jerez circuit, in Andalusia.

The day's activity was affected by the weather, as the track was only dry for the first hour of the session. Today, Felipe Massa was on duty for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, having his third day at the wheel of the F10. Felipe was only able to complete around twenty laps on dry tyres (best time 1.21.603) before having to run only with rain tyres, both intermediates and extremes. The Brazilian completed a total of 72 laps.

Testing continues at this circuit tomorrow, again with Felipe Massa on track for the Scuderia.

Chris Dyer's birthday at the track

Jerez de la Frontera, 12 February 2010 -- It wasn't the first time that Chris Dyer, the Australian from Bendigo, Head of race engineering at the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, celebrated his birthday at the track. For an enthusiast like him the box at a race circuit is almost a natural habitat, although sometimes he prefers to be in the snow, which is one of his other passions. But February has always been the month for Formula 1 tests. The alternatives here are to stay in the garage following the cars every metre and discussing the telemetric data with the colleagues and the driver of the day, or to organise the best possible way the work of those who are in contact with the driver aka the race engineers and the performance engineers. Chris knows their work like the back of his hand, because that is what he did until the end of 2007 next to many drivers, amongst them some famous names like the World Champions Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen. He's 42 now, but the passion for this fascinating work is still there although it takes him around the world and therefore far away from his loved ones: the Scuderia and all the fans would like to wish him all the best for his birthday!
