Giancarlo Fisichella discusses the signature of his Renault contract for 2007.

Q: Giancarlo, you will be driving for Renault again in 2007. What are your feelings?

Giancarlo Fisichella: To be honest, I am pleased to have my future secure, it will allow me to clear my head and concentrate 100% on the second part of the season, which will be crucial for the team.

Q: Do you think it is important for you and the team to continue together?

GF: Yes, I am convinced of it. I am very pleased to continue with Renault: the atmosphere in the team is fantastic, and I have a good relationship with the engineers and mechanics, who are happy with the work we are doing. The Renault package is certainly the best on the grid, and it is important for me to carry on driving it!

Q: Do you know who your team-mate will be yet?

GF: It is still too early to say but I am not worried. I know every decision will be made in the best interests of the team and, therefore, for me too. What I can say, is that whoever my team-mate is, I am not afraid of measuring up to them

Q: You say you are pleased with the announcement. How will you approach the next races in the championship?

GF: As I said, I am very happy with the announcement. I am really looking forward to the next races. Physically and mentally, I am in really good shape. Our car is running well, the engine and tyres too, we are working hard, so I don't see any reason why we won't be successful in the coming races. We have a good opportunity to fight at the front of the field, and that's critical for our championship push.
