Senior management changes as team refocuses its efforts.

Jordan Grand Prix has finalised details of a restructuring programme which commenced last November. The management group has spent the last six months putting together a revised structure aimed at returning Jordan to the more flexible, open style of organization which existed during the team's most successful seasons, as well as reducing costs which have escalated following a period of unprecedented growth. This will lead to a reduction in staff numbers by around 15%, including some senior managers, whilst maintaining a workforce of just over 200.

Personnel were informed last November that costs would be examined in all areas, and that the restructuring would concentrate on maximising the technical capability of the team.

"Jordan has always been at its best when lean and efficient," said Chief Executive Eddie Jordan. "Once you sense complacency creeping in, or costs becoming exorbitant, a prudent business needs to take action. We have an incredible group of people at Jordan who work tirelessly to achieve on track success. These changes will generate a more efficient structure at a time when our focus is on the performance and reliability of our cars."

Eddie Jordan will personally oversee sporting and commercial issues while the technical side of the team will be run by Director of Design and Development Henri Durand and Director of Race and Test Engineering Gary Anderson.

Joint Managing Director Trevor Foster and Head of Engineering Tim Holloway are leaving the team with immediate effect, while Chief Operating Officer John Putt will depart after managing the transition phase to the new management structure.

"I would like to thank John, Trevor and Tim for everything they achieved with us," said Eddie Jordan. "It has been a difficult start to the season for us but we are now regrouping for an even more vigorous assault on the remaining 13 Grands Prix, and I would like to thank all our personnel for their hard work and continued commitment."
