Timo Glock began Jordan Ford's first test of 2004 today in cold, dry conditions at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya, completing 54 laps with a quickest lap time of 1:19.62 at his first visit to the circuit and first outing in a Formula One car.

James Robinson, Head of Race and Test Engineering:

"We had a good start to the day but during the morning we lost a small amount of track time to a misfire which was eventually pinned down to electrical problems, costing us about an hour. Dominic (Harlow) and Timo (Glock) pushed on with programme and completed 44 laps in the morning and during lunch we made a number of changes in our test plan with development parts for EJ14."

"We began the afternoon programme, however a trip into the gravel curtailed running for a short while but later when Timo resumed testing duties he finished the day with a number of runs on new tyres and his fastest lap time of 1:19.62 demonstrates a pretty good effort."

Timo Glock:

"It was an unbelievably great experience for me to drive a Formula One car here in Barcelona. The power and brakes are really strong compared to anything I have driven and the aerodynamics are obviously a big step up from F3 you can drive through corners faster and brake later. It's my dream to race in F1 and I hope I can drive an F1 car again soon. Testing is the first step so we'll see what happens."

Eddie Jordan:

"For Timo Glock's first time in a Formula One car, to do over 50 laps of a Grand Prix circuit at the pace he did was very impressive. It would be nice to see if he can build on this."

Timo Glock
Chassis: EJ13/05
Laps: 54
Best time: 1:19.62
