BAR boss Craig Pollock says the team will be ready for action in Malaysia next weekend after a traumatic Australian Grand Prix.

The team was badly shaken by the accident involving Jacques Villeneuve, which resulted in the tragic death of a marshal.

In an exclusive interview with BAR.net, Pollock says the fatal incident has cast a cloud over the team but they are ready to bounce back at Sepang next weekend.

He said: "The accident put us behind in our production of chassis for the season.

"But the team will have three cars minimum, potentially four cars in Malaysia. We are very lucky that production is well enough on schedule that we can take three cars."

Pollock said Villeneuve had been badly affected by the accident but said the 1997 world champion was a strong enough character to cope with the shock.

He said: "He didn't appear to be shaken up after the accident, I think because of the adrenaline. The shake-up came that evening. The way that I could tell that was because Jacques rates accidents. He basically says 'that was a good one', 'that was a big one'.

"This time he didn't say anything about it all, which is proof to me that he was thinking about how bad this one was.

"I do not think the crash will affect Jacques adversely on a personal basis. Jacques is a very cool character and is very capable of putting this out of his head."
