FONDMETAL MINARDI TESTS ARE OVER

After yesterday's storm, which prevented the tests from being carried out, the sun came back at Mugello track and were back on the track also the men of the Fondmetal Minardi Ford test team. At the end of a hard working day, Shinji Nakano managed to accomplish the global programme, which concerned first of all the testing of both the new diffuser and a different gearbox management strategy, as well as a number of aerodynamic variations. As far as the engines are concerned, two of those previously used were set to zero kilometers. Back to Faenza this evening, the team technicians - satisfied for the results achieved - will decide which of the new solutions are going to debut on the track at the next Belgian GP, after a careful analysis of the collected data. Thursday: Shinji Nakano 63 laps 1:31:352 Wednesday: Shinji Nakano 9 laps 1:33:210 Scarperia, 20th August 1998
