Just two days after winning the Hungarian GP, Scuderia Ferrari-Marlboro was back in action testing at the Monza circuit. Both Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine were driving today; their F 300 being the long wheelbase versions, as tried in a previous test and on the Friday of the German GP. The track remained wet for most of the morning, while the drivers worked on the set-up of their cars. The Irishman had to end his test early because of a transmission problem after completing 25 laps with a best time of 1m 27.282s. The German completed his programme for the day, doing 54 laps with a best time of 1m 26.695s. Both drivers continue testing tomorrow.
